The image above links to an Instagram account I managed from September to December 2023 for my Social Media for Strategic Communication course at Cal Poly. Throughout the course, we as students utilized social media to propose and execute marketing efforts for German Shepard Rescue of Northern California.

Above, you can click the link to view a social media account I managed from April to June 2023 for my Introduction to Multimedia Journalism class at Cal Poly. I created a blog about the local art scene in San Luis Obispo and wrote stories related to this topic throughout the quarter, utilizing social media to supplement the information I delivered through my blog.

About Me

I'm a junior at California Polytechnic State University pursuing a B.S. in Journalism, a B.A. in Interdisciplinary Studies, and a minor in Media Arts, Society and Technology.

I am a disc jockey, editorial assistant and outreach coordinator for KCPR San Luis Obispo, Cal Poly's radio station. As a DJ, I have a weekly two-hour radio show in which I curate music and make localized and timely announcements. Having my own radio show has provided me crucial experience with time management, public speaking and quick thinking, and radio broadcasting has quickly become a great passion of mine. I am also the editorial assistant for KCPR's Content Team, in which I co-manage a team of 10 student reporters and edit their articles, with our coverage focusing around local art, music and culture. In this role, I've gained strong experience with leadership, communication and journalistic editing. Lastly, as an outreach coordinator, I work closely with the marketing team to plan KCPR events with the aim to reach a wider audience. We prioritize diversity, equity and inclusion efforts, using our station as a platform for highlighting underrepresented voices and stories.

I am seeking internships and part-time jobs related to radio broadcasting, digital marketing, social media management, and more generally, journalism and communications. I am excited to further explore and gain experience in these fields!
